How is this Seated Buddha sculpture representative of the culture which created it?
What do you think makes this Chinese interpretation of Buddha different from Big Buddha in Kamakura, Japan, constructed in 1252.
Seated Buddha is found here: http://www.metmuseum.org/toah/hd/buda/ho_43.24.3.htm
With a fast mind, you may realize that there is no buddhism in buddhism. Buddhism means nothing.
We are just a product of culture, and we are not self , but social. We are like a car produced by mechanism and lived following mechanism and configuration.
You must not concentrate too mcuh on these matter of right/wrong, all is just for convenience in determining a goal. You should follow your instinct.
