Why are images of Buddha too thin, however, there are statues, which is too fat? ?
I'm doing a project on Buddhism I can not find it anywhere.
Well there are pictures and statues of the Buddhas of fat and skinny. You see the Buddha term only means to awaken, and more of a Buddha. The historical Buddha who brought the religion in existence is the skinny. He preached on the middle road and not too much and not too little. Thus, no skeletal or fat. The fat is Hotei Buddha, a Chinese fisherman. They are two completely different people. The fat Buddha was played up because it is more aesthetically pleasing and happy future. So often used as decoration.

The Sleeping Buddha pose represents the time just before the death of Buddha, when he gathered his disciples and shared his final thoughts. The Buddha is shown exit its physical form and just before the approval in Nirvana, which symbolizes complete peace and detachment from the world. The reclining Buddha statue I saw on the line, the Buddha is depicted as quiet, with a relaxed posture, the smile on the face and lying on its side with the head inclined to support the hand and arm to be bent at the elbow. It is understood that for the Buddha, an enlightened being, that physical death is only a transition to a transcendental state physical body will be released from the endless cycle of rebirth.
Wat Pho, the Temple of the Reclining Buddha statue, 20 acres of land is the largest Wat in Bangkok, and is technically the oldest too. Wat Pho also has the distinction of having twice as Thailand's largest reclining Buddha image and the largest number of Buddha images in the fields of welding a specific Wat. Inlaid with mother-of-pearl on his feet and eyes, this 46 meters long and 15 m high gold plated reclining Buddha is very impressive to behold! The feet also show the 108 favorable characteristics of the true Buddha.
Although many web sites, fully explain the symbolism and teachings reclining Buddha behind the statue, which is still a little confusing to me were the sites that broke out in the tangent of the favorable characteristics of the true 108 Buddha. Apparently, these works of art in the form of a foot print and does appear in a reclining Buddha statue there in Afghanistan, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and the Union of Myanmar. What I can summarize is that these traces are works of art and the teachings of Dharma.
Put the two together symbolism, is both ironic and sublime that only just before moving on to Nirvana are secrets of "contemplation walking Buddha was revealed. So, when we get to that place where you raise your feet what will be revealed about the souls who have been stepping?
Namaste ~
