The Buddha is known to have had or spent time with the breed of dog called a "foo" dog. I suggest that find pictures of the breed of dog you want, and then find the Buddha images you like, then have the tattoo artist put together for you. That's their job, and I like to do art.

Why is there a misconception that Buddha was oriental?
Some people are surprised learn that Buddhism originated in ancient India. They assume that Buddha was Chinese or some oriental race. What factors do you think shape our perceptions?
i used to think that too until i learned about world religions in the world. even though it orignated in india, its strongest base right now is in the East. more people there are buddhist than in india. Buddhism was wiped out of its homeland (india) with when muslim (turks or mongols, not sure) migrated into india. they raided the buddhist temples and thus erradicated it from india. people think that where a religion originated would probably be in the most prominent place. thus since it is most popular in the east, they think it originated there. howver they did not realize that it may have been eradicated from its homeland
