Calligraphy is an artistic style of the letters. The aesthetics of this system of letters with style helped him win his place among all forms of visual art. Perspective historical and technical evolution, as well as the ability also supports its classification among the art forms. Initially it was a vehicle to preserve religious texts. But today is a means of letters of invitation cards design for the event, nameplates, memory documents, certificates, registrations in different media such as stone slabs or metal art pieces and also for designing logos.

It has evolved in different parts of the world in different ways. Visible lines of evolution has been honored as Western, Middle East and Eastern Europe. While western calligraphy has maintained singular dimension of evolution, Middle Eastern calligraphy has two branches, namely, Islamic or Arabic and Persian and oriental calligraphy has evolved than on discrete geographic regions such as China and imperial occupation in Japan and Korea, in South Asia including India, Nepal and Tibet. The shape, size and colors used in the letters vary in each of the three evolutionary trends, so the tools varies.

Basically, the Latin writing system has become Western calligraphy. However, there is less participation of the Greek alphabet and Cyrillic writing styles, too. The handwriting was formed for the Book of the Gospels Carolingian era. Gradually transformed into the Gothic style with pointed lyrics and round but the variation is Rotonda look heavy. The more He was later a favorite in Italy and Spain, while the first was a preference for the rest of Europe. Gutenberg Bible used the Gothic style.

The styles of the Middle East are two storylines. The old style is conspicuous by its Persian letter-shaped nail horizontally, vertically and diagonally. Was developed during the sixth century BC and continued to be used in memorial inscriptions. After a millennium, with the advent of Moorish joined in the path of evolution of Arabic calligraphy. Arabic form is better known as the Islamic way, bringing together the work of Islamic artists worldwide. This has mainly been used to decorate ceilings and walls of mosques.

Oriental calligraphy has historically been dominated by Chinese forms. The history of the evolution of this art has its roots in ancient inscriptions on bones Jiaguwen characters whose brush-drawn counterparts sank into oblivion. Through the unification of the large land mass, since pre-Christian era, different Chinese rulers attempted to regularize the only way calligraphic styles from around the country. But the cultural political unity variant spread maintained in the vast territory in the practice of local forms, albeit informal.

Calligraphy India began during the second century BC during the reign of Asoka the introduction of Brahmi script and Kharoshi. Were used mainly in stone inscriptions. Nepal is a style much younger than other styles in the world. It all started with the spread of Mahayana Buddhism and sects Bajrayana. But the original style has resulted in many ways that later migrated to other parts South and Southeast Asia. Tibetan calligraphy scripts inherited India. They are obviously found in the Buddhist prayer wheels even today.

Tools differs widely between the Western and Eastern. While the Western world has chosen pen tip and flat and round brushes from time to time, the Oriental medical prefer to use brushes of different types of hair. The later creates variations in results using different bases. However, both schools signed in ink as the only means. Contemporary Western world has the power to the pens of ink cartridges.
