Why are images of Buddha too thin, however, there are statues, which is too fat? ?
I'm doing a project on Buddhism I can not find it anywhere.
Well there are pictures and statues of the Buddhas of fat and skinny. You see the Buddha term only means to awaken, and more of a Buddha. The historical Buddha who brought the religion in existence is the skinny. He preached on the middle road and not too much and not too little. Thus, no skeletal or fat. The fat is Hotei Buddha, a Chinese fisherman. They are two completely different people. The fat Buddha was played up because it is more aesthetically pleasing and happy future. So often used as decoration.

What do you think atheists etc. of the Dalai Lama?
I watched a PBS documentary about his life and the way the man thinks. Wow. I was impressed. As someone that has questioned religion, he talks a lot about science. He stated that he believes in science, and he had CArl Sagan books on his coffee table. You could barely see them, but I recognized the photo on the book.
I know nothing about the religion, but I must say, he has lite a fire under me to learn more. What do you think of him?
The Dalai Lama is not an atheist; he is Buddhist. I think that he is a peaceful man who is very spiritually inclined and who spreads love into the world. If everyone could be more like him, the world would be a better place.
Why is Buddha dipicted in different ways. As a gay man fat or skinny guy.?
I have seen many statues and images of Buddha as a man Fat happy sitting at leisure. I read that the reason is because he was a nobleman. That is why it is always sitting in the leisure and fat (because hes rich). But then again I should have read was not fat, due to physical reasons. On the other hand I read that was fat and skinny throughtout his life. Why what is fat, thin, occasionally?
There are many Buddhas. A Buddha is simply someone who has achieved enlightenment. The jolly fat guy whom you speak is actually the Chinese god of luck and fortune – was once a man, but light came through the madness of their fate and fortune. Therefore, it was a Buddha, and lighting. The skinny is Siddhartha Gautama, who attained enlightenment meditating under the Bodhi tree, after a life of ascetic wealth, and then then realize the truth of the middle path. Therefore, it was a Buddha, and lighting.
